Case studies are assigned in a given week of KIN 6056 typically after the conclusion of Tuesday night's meeting. Case studies are subject to change until assigned. Starting a case study before it is assigned may result in duplicative effort on your part. |
Case Study Template (new)
The case study template is new and it is not required that students use the template. It is intended only to provide structure and instruction about material and processes that would be covered in every case study submission. It also includes information that may not be included in your process and case study submission. Each case study will have specific material which will always be found in the appendices. The document prior to the appendices is the optional template.
What is important is that you design a process, that works well for you, and would generate a patient/client record which would include your preparticipation assessment, risk stratification, informed consent, emergency protocol, health history, records from other sources, fitness assessment and comprehensive, individualized exercise prescription addressing all the health-related components of fitness, the clients goals, and special considerations as a minimum. Materials to implement the exercise prescription and supervise exercise sessions would also be included.

The video below is meant to provide instruction to use the template and NOT instruction for the processes which generate the information to create your your case studies.

Follow the process outlined in the course video's for Week 6, and Tuesday's class meeting to write the "basic ExRx" for the three case studies which you have completed the preparticipation and fitness assessment process.
Basic ExRx includes F.I.T.T. for warm up, all the health related components of fitness and the cool down. Please include exercise Volume and Progression. It does NOT include the specific exercises. The basic ExRx DOES include addressing the patient's goals and special considerations.
